Ankle Arthroplasty

An arthroplasty is a surgical procedure in which an artificial joint replaces a damaged joint (See Figure 1.). An ankle arthroplasty is an alternative to an ankle joint fusion (arthrodesis). Your doctor will determine if you are a candidate for a joint replacement surgery or a fusion (Performed by Orthopedic Surgeons).
